Deanna Ren

After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and minor in music from the University of Washington in Seattle in 2019, Deanna Ren began her Master's program in Chinese Language and Literatures at Washington University in St. Louis. Having completed an independent study on experimental Chinese literature at Capital Normal University in Beijing in 2018, she became interested in Mandarin-to-English translation as a linguistic and epistemological anti-imperialist intervention. She is currently interested in translating works by Lu Xun, Can Xue and other contemporary Chinese authors in a decolonial framework.
